Police launch appeal for info after car is set on fire in the early hours

Police are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising in Carluke.

The incident happened around 2.30am on Thursday, September 3, when a white BMW 120 was deliberately set on fire on Caldwell Road.

Detective Constable Mark McNab, of Lanarkshire CID, said: “Thankfully there has been no injuries as a result of this reckless act. Although the incident took place in the early hours of the morning I would appeal to anyone that was in the area at the time to contact officers with any information.

“I would particular like to appeal to those who would have been driving in the area and may possibly have dashcam footage.”

Anyone with information is asked to call officers at Wishaw Police Station via 101 quoting incident number 0261 of 3rd September 2020.

Alternatively you can disclose any information anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
