Police launch appeal after woman sexually assaulted in Paisley

Police are appealing for information following a report of a 19-year-old woman being sexually assaulted in Paisley.

The incident happened between 7.30pm and 8pm on Wednesday, 26 August in a park off Brediland Road in the Foxbar area.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.

Police say they are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to identify a man described as being black, around 30-40-years-old and of heavy build.

Detective Inspector Colin MacRitchie said: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and a police presence will be maintained in the area while this ongoing.

"I would urge anyone who may have information which could assist our investigation to come forward.

"Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident 0315 of 27 August, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
