Police launch appeal after man is assaulted in Blantyre

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Blantyre last weekend.

Around 9.45 pm on Saturday, July 6,  a 32-year-old man was assaulted in Calderwood Road, Blantyre.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to Hairmyres Hospital where he was treated for a head injury before being released.

Detective Constable Euan Wallace at Cambuslang CID said: “We are still trying to establish a motive for this assault and as such would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity and may have witnessed the incident.”

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Cambuslang CID via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 4832 of 6 July 2019.”

Alternatively calls can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
