Police knock biker off scrambler after spotting him riding wrong way towards traffic

Police knocked a dangerous biker off his scrambler after spotting him riding it the wrong way in Trafford.

Officers from the traffic unit spotted the large off-road scrambler travelling towards oncoming traffic on Chester Road, Stretford on Friday.

The police officer followed the biker in his BMW X5 before 'nudging the rider safely off the bike', a post on the GMP Trafford North Facebook page said.

The rider then got up and ran off following the incident, at the junction with Edge Lane.

Police seized the bike that 'he was riding so dangerously', the post said.

The force have had 'lots of complaints' of off road bikers in north Trafford.

Earlier in the week, an officer reported that a biker rode at them on Shrewsbury Street the post, put up at 1.30pm, said.

The status, signed off by 'Walshy', ended: "Look after yourselves in this warm weather - it's a bit too hot for this ginger to be honest lol."
