Police keen to speak to man in flat cap after pensioner's purse stolen in Aldi

A pensioner's purse was stolen from her bag while she was shopping at an Aldi supermarket in Runcorn.

The 80-year-old was shopping in Aldi on Southway, at around midday on Wednesday, June 30, when a man stole her purse from her bag.

Cheshire Police today released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft.

The man pictured is wearing a flat cap, black face mask, a blue shirt and a black gilet.

PC James Sant said: “I’d urge anyone who recognises the man to contact us so that we can progress with our enquiries.”

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via the website quoting IML 1026638. Alternatively information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
