Police join councillors in Brucehill 'walkabout' to crack down on anti-social behaviour

Police and councillors took part in a 'walkabout' in a Dumbarton estate following complaints about anti-social behaviour.

Community policing officers and elected members joined West Dunbartonshire Council housing officers and antisocial investigation and support team in Brucehill.

The walkabouts are a method of bringing people with an interest in a particular area together to identify solutions to local concerns and issues.

Police say the initiative was held in response to concerns about antisocial behaviour.

As a result of the walkabout, they say a number of actions were identified and will be implemented in the forthcoming period by the various agencies involved.

Inspector Mo Boyle from the West Dunbartonshire community policing team, commented “Walkabouts provide an opportunity to look at specific areas first hand, speak to people and draw on the experience and knowledge of elected members and partner agencies to come up with ideas on how to make improvements and solve problems.”

Anyone with concerns regarding their community should contact their community policing team or the relevant agency.
