Police issue Wishaw residents advice as weather warning continues

Police have issued advice for Wishaw residents as the area is being hit with a three day weather warning.

In place till Wednesday, the warning comes after a weekend of turmoil and disruption caused by Storm Ciara.

Weather experts are saying there is a 70-90 per cent risk of sleet and snow throughout Monday, with temperatures hovering at just one degree.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Leave distance between vehicles and give yourself plenty of travel time.

“Beware of icy conditions, ensure your windows are clear and check your windscreen wipers are working well. You should avoid all unnecessary travel.”

The Met Office expect strong winds and heavy snow showers to carry into Tuesday.
