Police have received reports of illegal deer hunting on a West Lothian golf course.
Pumpherston Golf Club in Livingston put out a statement after police received complaints over "night-time hunting on the course".
The club warned members that it is "illegal to shoot deer or discharge a firearm on the course" and that "no-one is permitted to hunt within the course boundaries".
Public have rights of access to private land in Scotland under the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. However this code excludes right of access for hunting, shooting or fishing.

In order to track and shoot deer, a person must have permission from the landlord to do so in writing.
There are also rules on when, where and how deer may be shot with all four species found in Scotland – red, roe, fallow and sika – protected under the Deer (Scotland) Act 1996.
It is an offence to kill deer during close seasons and by any means other than shooting. You also have to use specified gun and ammunition.
Officers have said that they will monitor the situation going forward.
