Lanarkshire Police say they will have a presence at an expected ‘car meet’ scheduled for Strathclyde County Park today (Sunday).
Local officers will be carrying out targeted patrols in the area to ensure the safety of those involved and the wider public.
And they issued a stark warning to those thinking of attending.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “Be aware of the law and social distancing rules for that location and the surrounding areas.
“Lanarkshire is currently level 2, meaning he maximum number of people who can meet socially outdoors in a private garden or in a public place such as a park or an outdoor area of a café is eight.
“That can be from up to eight separate households and applies to anyone aged 12 or over. Two metre physical distancing should be maintained between members of different households.”
She confirmed that officers “will be present to reassure, educate and enforce if needed”.
Anyone wishing to report anything regarding this should contact police on 101.
