Police issue urgent appeal for wanted Gateshead man for 'making threats to kill'

Police are on the hunt for a Gateshead man wanted for a number of offences including making threats to kill.

A public appeal has been launched in a bid to find Sean Wayne Peter Stokes who is also wanted in connection with criminal damage offences. The 49-year-old is believed to be actively evading arrest and Northumbria Police have carried out searches at a number of addresses and locations across Gateshead and Newcastle where he is known to frequent.

Now officers are appealing to the public for help in a bid to bring him into custody. Police have asked anyone who has seen him or believes they may know where he may be staying, to contact officers immediately.

Police have warned it is a criminal offence to harbour a wanted fugitive, and anybody found to have done so could face a potential prison sentence.

Sean Wayne Peter Stokes, or anyone who has seen him, is asked to get in touch using the ‘Tell Us Something’ page on the police's website or by calling 101 quoting his name.

Alternatively, you can contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously by ringing 0800 555 111.
