Police issue urgent appeal for missing man

UPDATE: MR WHELAN HAS BEEN FOUND SAFE AND WELL

Police have issued an urgent appeal for a missing man this evening.

Lawrence Whelan, 76, was last seen on Sefton Road, Chorlton, at 4.30pm on Sunday (August 29).

He has not been seen since and police are 'increasingly concerned' for him.

In a statement issued tonight, GMP said: "Can you help police find missing man Lawrence Whelan from Chorlton?

"He is described as white, male, 76, very slim build, grey hair and looks very 'rough' unshaven. Lawrence was last seen wearing a beige jacket and beige pants.

"He has left without his phone, vehicle and money and this is out of character."
