Police issue update on woman who fell from Queens Drive flyover

Police have provided an update into the condition of a woman who fell from the Queens Drive flyover yesterday.

A huge emergency service response was called to the roundabout between County Road and Rice Lane shortly before 3pm to reports that a woman was found injured.

The busy road was closed during rush hour as they worked to help the woman, believed to be in her 20s.

It was reported at the time the woman was found in the road, having fallen.

Today, officers have confirmed the woman suffered injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "The woman suffered back and leg injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening."

Police officers put a number of road closures in place close to the Alsop Fitness Centre as paramedics rushed to help the woman.

The victim was then rushed to hospital a short time later for treatment.

Merseyside Police advised motorists to stay away from the area while emergency services dealt with the incident.
