Police issue update on teenager left fighting for his life after falling ill at Creamfields

A teenager who fell critically ill after attending Creamfields Festival is now in a stable condition.

The 18-year-old, who has not been identified, was left fighting for his life following the August Bank Holiday weekend dance festival, in Daresbury near Warrington.

But police say his condition has now improved and he's now been moved to a hospital closer to his home in Blackpool.

As the Manchester Evening News reported, a 19-year-old man from Warrington died after becoming ill at the four-day music event.

Speaking at the time Det Insp Alistair Hinze said: "There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

"A file will prepared for the coroner and our thoughts are with the family at this incredibly difficult time."

A Creamfields spokesperson added: "We are deeply saddened to hear of this tragic accident.

"We send our deepest condolences to his loved ones and we continue to work closely with the authorities."

Both men were assessed by a doctor at the festival, which was attended by 70,000 people, before being taken to hospital via ambulance.

Cheshire Police say they are unable to disclose how the men became ill.

Last month police said 37 people were arrested at Creamfields and 59 others were being investigated for offences allegedly committed at the festival.

The majority of cases related to the possession of drugs with intent to supply.
