Police issue update on city centre stabbing of 16-year-old boy

No arrests have been made yet after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed near Manchester city centre.

Emergency services were called to the 'isolated' incident on Quenby Street just before 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday).

Police said a 16-year-old was taken to hospital after being stabbed.

He remains there today in a serious but stable condition.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this stage.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Officers were called just before 5:30pm yesterday (11 November 2021) to reports a teenager had been stabbed at Quenby Street, Manchester city centre.

"Emergency services attended 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"He remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

"A scene is in place whilst enquiries are ongoing.

"No arrests have been made and officers believe this to be an isolated incident."
