Police issue update on body found on Porthcawl beach

The body of a man found on Porthcawl beach has been identified, police have confirmed.

Officers launched an appeal to help identify the man after he was found on a beach in Porthcawl on Saturday, March 5 around 10.20am.

Despite extensive enquiries by the force, police were unable to identify the man and an appeal was launched.

The man has now been identified as a 56-year-old from North Cornelly.

His next of kin have been informed.

A spokesperson for the force said: "South Wales Police can confirm that the body discovered on Porthcawl beach on Saturday, March 5 th has been identified as a 56-year-old man from North Cornelly.

"Next of kin have been informed and a file of evidence is being prepared for H M Coroner."
