Police issue update as woman found dead in Kirkby house

Merseyside Police have confirmed the death of a woman in Kirkby is not being treated as suspicious.

The body of a 38-year-old woman was found in a house on Brook Hey Drive, in Northwood, on Saturday, June 11. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene, at around 5.30pm, and an investigation was launched to establish what happened and how she died.

Officers have now revealed that her death is not believed to be suspicious and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. Bouquets of flowers have already been laid on the doorstep of the house she was found in, as tributes flooded in on social media.

Jenifer Martin said: "So sad rest in peace my thoughts are with her family and friends." Patricia McVey added: "So very sad my thoughts are with her family x."

A third Karen Louise Jones said: "Heart-wrenching RIP beautiful my thoughts are with her family x." While Norma Threlfall commented: "So sad and so young thinking of all her family at this sad time xxx."

A spokesperson for the force told the ECHO: "We can confirm the death of a woman in Kirkby on Saturday, June 11, is not being treated as suspicious. At around 5.30pm emergency services were called to an address on Brook Hey Drive in Northwood where a 38-year-old woman had been found dead.

"Emergency services attended and the woman was sadly confirmed the woman had died. She has been formally identified and her next of kin have been informed.

"The death is not believed to be suspicious and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. A file will be prepared for the coroner."
