Police issue update after serious A38 crash near Bristol Airport

A motorcyclist's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening following a serious crash near Bristol Airport .

One car and one motorcycle were involved in the incident on Bridgwater Road shortly before 5.20pm yesterday (July 28).

Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene and rushed the motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, to Southmead Hospital.

The A38 southbound was closed while police officers carried out enquiries.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary confirmed today (July 29): "There is nothing to suggest the injuries were life threatening or life changing."

A spokeswoman for South Western Ambulance Service added: "We were called to this incident at 5.11pm yesterday (July 28).

"It was reported that a male in his 30s crashed his motorcycle into the curb. He was taken by land ambulance to Southmead hospital.

"The critical care team from the air ambulance travelled in the ambulance with him to provide clinical care on route."

Police previously said: "We were called shortly before 5.20pm this evening to reports of a road traffic collision on Bridgwater Road near Bristol Airport.

"One motorcycle and one car were involved in the incient.

"The motorcyclist has been taken to Southmead Hospital with potentially serious injuries.

"The A38 southbound had been closed at the Airport Tavern, with traffic being diverted via Brockley Coombe Road."

Police have put out an appeal for anybody who may have dashcam footage of the incident, or the moments surrounding it.
