Police have failed to find evidence of a man approaching a child in Cambuslang after a parent issued a warning online.
It was believed a six-year-old girl had been between 6.30pm and 7.15pm on Thursday in Beaton Walk .
It was claimed the man tried to walk away with the schoolgirl who began kicking and screaming, before she allegedly escaped his grip.
Cops say they are continuing to investigate the incident, however they have failed to find any evidence of the claims so far.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Enquiries are continuing today.
"Officers have studied a wide range of CCTV from that area and at this time there is no trace of a man matching that description, or a man approaching children."
