Police issue taunt after resident returns to find 'door smashed in'

Police took to social media to issue a sarcastic taunt to the owner of a cannabis haul, saying they were 'looking after' the drugs for them.

City centre police said they removed seven kilos of cannabis from the streets after executing a warrant at a house.

Officers said no-one was present at the property when they struck.

After the raid, officers took to Twitter to let the occupier know they've left some contact details.

Officers said they were 'looking after' the drugs for them.

A tweet by officers on the GMP Manchester City Centre feed read: "Returned home to find your door smashed in & something missing?

"Don’t panic, it was only us on a warrant.

"It appears you weren’t in, but we’ve left you our contact details so you can get in touch to discuss the 7kg of cannabis we’re looking after for you!

"See you soon #OpOrion."
