Police issue statement as man found dead in his car in Leeds

Police have issued a statement after a large cordon was put in place in Armley, Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police were called at 8.10am today (Monday) following a report a man was missing from his home.

However, at 8.22am a deceased man was found in his car in Whitehall Road.

A spokesperson for the force has confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances in regards to his death.

They said: “At 8.10am today police in Leeds received a report of a man missing from home with concerns for his welfare.

“At 8.22am, officers found the man in his car in Whitehall Road.

“Emergency services responded to the scene and he was confirmed as deceased.

“There were no suspicious circumstances and the Coroner’s Office has been informed.”
