Police issue statement as major Nottingham road closed after crash

Police closed off a major Nottingham road after a crash involving two cars.

The collision forced the closure of one lane on Huntingdon Street in the city centre at around 11.40am today (Monday, January 10).

There was also a partial blockage to its other lane near Fulforth Street.

Officers worked to clear the blockage for 15 minutes before the road was reopened at 11.55am

No serious injuries have been reported.

Sergeant Chris Johnson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers quickly responded to a collision which caused a blockage to a busy city road.

“Thankfully no one suffered any serious injuries and officers were able to clear and re-open the road very quickly following their arrival.

“We would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash-cam footage to get in touch with Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 240 of 10 January 2022.”
