Police issue stark warning for Canberra drivers to slow down

Police have issued a stark warning to Canberrra drivers to slow down as part of a campaign against speeding.

ACT Policing released a video as part of the "Who are you rushing to meet?" road safety campaign.

ACT Policing said the video told the story of the deadly consequences of speeding on Canberra roads.

Detective Inspector Donna Hofmeier encouraged all drivers to watch the video and reflect on their driving behaviour.

"And ask themselves honestly, who are you rushing to meet?," she said.

The campaign will run until the end of April.

There has been two deaths on Canberra roads this year. There were seven deaths on ACT roads in 2020.
