Police issue new images of Lanarkshire man missing for almost a week

Police have released new images of missing Kilsyth man, Alexander McMillan.

We told you last week how concern was growing over the welfare of Alexander McMillan.

The 46-year-old failed to return home last Monday, having last been seen by family and friends on Kilsyth’s Donaldson Avenue at around 11.45pm.

Police Scotland told Lanarkshire Live that the last sighting of the Kilsyth man was Constarry Road in Croy on Wednesday (April 27).

Investigating officers said family and friends have not spoken with the 46-year-old in that time - now they have issued new images of Alexander to help jog the memory of locals who may have seen him.

Alexander was seen on CCTV around midnight on Monday, April 25 into Tuesday, April 26 on Manse Road near to Howe Road, Kilsyth.

At that time he was wearing a navy hooded jumper, a baseball cap, grey trousers or jogging bottoms and dark coloured Adidas Gazelle trainers.

He was carrying two rucksacks - one white and grey with a ‘Timberland’ logo, and the other blue/white/grey striped.

He was also carrying a fishing rod in a carry case.

Sergeant Greig McKail told Lanarkshire Live : “Alexander is quite distinctive in that he is tall, around 6ft 1, slim and has a long grey unkempt beard and receding hair.

“We have been carrying out significant enquiries since he went missing. In addition to the CCTV footage, a member of the public reported a possible sighting of him on Constarry Road, Croy around 4.30 pm on Wednesday, April 27, but that has still to be confirmed.

“He has never been missing before and we are concerned as this is very out of character.”

Anyone with any information should contact Police via 101.
