Police issue harassment warning after threats aimed at Cardiff City officials following Emiliano Sala tragedy

Police have issued a harassment warning to Willie McKay following a complaint about alleged threats towards Cardiff City officials.

amid reports in the Sunday Telegraph  that the football agent, who turned 60 this month, had made threats towards senior Cardiff officials. The two parties had been at loggerheads over the Emiliano Sala tragedy.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that a harassment warning had been issued and that the investigation had "now concluded".

"The Metropolitan Police Service received an allegation of a public order offence in Kendall Street, W2 on Friday, 22 February.

"Officers from the Central Area Command Unit investigated.

"A man, aged in his 50s, was interviewed under caution on Tuesday, 28 May. He was not arrested.

"The man was issued with a first instance harassment warning. The investigation has now concluded."

McKay has become embroiled in the the Sala case after helping to set up the striker's record £15m transfer from Nantes to Cardiff.

He admitted in emails to providing information claiming there was interest from other clubs, which the Bluebirds feel could have driven up the price for Sala.

McKay was also the man who booked the Malibu Piper flight intended to take Sala from France back to the Welsh capital.

He has also publicly accused Cardiff of "trying to throw me under a bus."

The latest development in the Sala tragedy comes a week after a 64-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
