Police issue fresh appeal to track down man wanted over assault

Police are appealing for help to find a man with links to Bolton who is wanted in connection with an assault.

Officers are keen to track down Simon Long, 41, after an attack that took place on September 30.

The 41-year-old, from Southport, Merseyside, is known to have links to Bolton as well as the Bamber Bridge and Chorley areas of Lancashire.

Long is described as 5ft 6in tall, of medium build, with light brown hair and a ginger coloured beard.

Anyone who sees Long or has any information on his whereabouts is urged to come forward.

In a post on Facebook, a spokesperson for Preston police said: "We are continuing to appeal for help to find Simon Long who is wanted in connection with an assault.

"The 41-year-old has been wanted following the incident on September 30 in the Bamber Bridge area of Preston.

"Long, from Southport, is described as 5ft 6in of medium build with light brown hair and a ginger coloured beard.

"He has links to Bamber Bridge, Chorley, Southport and Bolton."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lancashire Police on 101 or email 1657@lancashire.police.uk, quoting log number 1474 of September 30.

Information can also be given to the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
