Police issue fresh appeal for help finding missing Aberystwyth man David Hugh Jones on first anniversary of his disappearance

Police have issued a fresh appeal for help to find a missing man from Aberystwyth one year on after he went missing.

This week marks the first anniversary since the disappearance of David Hugh Jones, and Dyfed-Powys officers are now hoping their new appeal will "jog someone's memory."

CCTV shows Mr Jones, who was 54 at the time, left his home at Tre’r-Ddol - between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth – at around noon on November 15, 2019.

Inspector Ashley Brice said: “We know that David enjoyed walking along the country paths around his home village; however, since last November, there have been no further sightings of him.

“In that time we have worked very closely with the coastguard, search and rescue teams, bus and rail providers, and the public, with extensive searches and enquiries conducted.

“We hope people see this anniversary appeal and it jogs someone’s memory.

“If you think you have seen David since last November, or know anything that could help our investigation, please contact us.”
