Police issue e-fit image of man after sex attack on teenager by dog walker at Cathkin Braes

A new e-fit image has been released by police in an appeal for more information connected with a sex attack in Cathkin Braes.

Police are looking to identify the man in, who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, 23 April, 2019 between 9pm and 10pm near to the B759 Cathkin Braes, Rutherglen.

As previously reported, a 17-year-old victim was walking near woodland when she was approached by a man walking his dog.

The suspect engaged the victim in conversation before dragging her into the woods and subjecting her to a sex attack.

The suspect then made off in the direction of Cathkin Braes Golf Club.

Police Scotland have now issued a new appeal with the E-fit and asked anyone who recognises the man, or has any information about the incident, to get in touch.  

They said: "Police are looking to identify the man in the attached e-fit who they believe can assist with their enquiries into an incident on Tuesday, 23 April, 2019 which occurred between 9pm and 10pm near to the B759 Cathkin Braes, Rutherglen.

"Anyone who recognises the man or has any information about this incident should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 4422 of 23 April 2019."

Alternatively, an anonymous report can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
