A dispersal order has been issued for an industrial estate on the outskirts of Chepstow due to reports of repeated anti-social use of vehicles. Gwent Police announced that the order would come into effect at 5pm on Sunday October 30.
The order covers the Newhouse Industrial Estate in Chepstow. It will remain in place until 6am on Monday October 31.
Section 35 dispersal orders give police constables power to direct someone to leave the area and not return until the end of the period specified in the order. It also allows officers to remove a person under 16 to a place of safety.

For a Section 35 order to be issued, the officer issuing it has to have reasonable grounds to suspect the use of dispersal powers is necessary to reduce the likelihood of members of the public being harassed, alarmed or distressed, or of crime and disorder in the area.
To remove a person from the area under the order, the constable has to believe it serves the behaviour of the specific person contributes, or is likely to contribute, to these issues. Failure to comply with a Section 35 order is an offence.
Police confirmed in a tweet early on Sunday afternoon: "A dispersal order covering Newhouse Industrial Estate, Chepstow will come into effect at 5pm this evening (Sunday 30th October 2022) due to reports of repeated anti-social use of vehicles.
