Police issue dispersal order ahead of popular funfair

Police have issued a dispersal order ahead of a funfair in Ammanford this week. A section 34 order has been put in place and will run for the duration of the Ammanford Fun Fair through to the weekend of April 22/23.

The order allows police officers to make people leave a location and not return for up to 48 hours. Ammanford Fun Fair begins on the evening of Wednesday, April 19 and Dyfed-Powys Police have warned there will be a "high visible presence" of officers at the fair throughout the week and asked parents to check where their children are going at night during the event.

In a statement, Dyfed-Powys Police said: "With the Ammanford Fun Fair starting later this evening, a section 34 order is in place starting with immediate effect and will run throughout the weekend.

"This will allow officers to disperse persons from a location and prevent persons from reattending an area for up to 48 hours under Section 35 Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. Parents, do you know where your children will be going this evening? Please remind children to be respectful of other attendees and organisers.

"We want everyone to have fun and enjoy the Fun Fair but please be respectful of the community. Officers will be showing a high visible presence at the location throughout the week."
