Police issue coronavirus lockdown reminder to parents after reports of youth disorder around Glasgow

Police are reminding parents to keep an eye on their children during the coronavirus lockdown following reports of group youth disorder in Milngavie and Kirkintilloch.

Reports reached them of youths congregating to the rear of a church on Hillhead Road, Kirkintilloch, yeserday afternoon around 2:45pm.

While a 'couple' of youths were moved on and advised to return home by Police following a call about youths in Lennox Park in Milngavie last night.

East Dunbartonshire Police took to social media to issue the reminder, saying: "Sadly we still had reports of group youth disorder yesterday on Hillhead Rd, Kirky and Lennox Park, Milngavie.

"If you don't know where your kids are you are putting everyone at risk. Further guidance will be released on new police powers today but come on folks use common sense".

A statement from Police Scotland said: "Report at 2.45 pm on Thurs, 26 March, of youths congregating to the rear of a church in Hillhead Road, Kirkintilloch. No trace on police arrival.

"'Couple' of youths moved on and advised to return home by police following a call about youths in Lennox Park, Milngavie. Officers called at 8.30 pm on Thurs, 26 March, 2020".
