Police issue appeal to help identify man who died at Newton train station

Police have issued an appeal for help in identifying a man who died at Newton train station.

Emergency services were called to the station, near Cambuslang , around 6.45pm on Sunday (June 16) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics also attended but the unidentified man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

British Transport Police officers say they are not treating the incident as suspicious.

Despite extensive enquiries, BTP has been unable to identify the man and inform his family, and ask anyone who recognises his description to get in touch.

He was white, wearing a large navy North Face hoodie, black Bench jacket, blue jeans, dark JCB socks and black Adidas ‘LA’ trainers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP officers by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 395 of 16/06/19.
