Police issue appeal for woman missing for more than nine hours

Police have issued an appeal for help to find a woman who was last seen on Friday (December 11).

Missing woman Janet Downs, who is 59, was last seen in Parson Street, Bedminster, at about 2pm.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary say they are concerned for her welfare so need to locate her as soon as they can.

Janet is described as being white and around 5ft 5in tall.

She was last seen wearing black leggings and a black coat which has a fur trim around the hood.

She has no access to money or a phone.

Janet is known to frequent south Bristol and the city centre, but has been known to go as far as Devon.

Police say she may head to the Harbourside or local parks.
