Police issue appeal for missing Salford man not seen since August

Police have issued an appeal for information on the whereabouts of a man from Salford who has been missing since August.

Andrew Barr, 49, was last seen leaving home in Swinton on August 26, 2021.

He was believed to have been wearing a green jacket and pants, alongside black trainers and a black bag with brown trim at the time of his disappearance.

Police say they are ‘becoming increasingly concerned’ about Mr Barr’s whereabouts.

They have received some possible sightings of him in the Bolton area and have asked anyone with information to come forward.

A photo of Mr Barr has been issued - although police say it was taken 15 years ago.

In a statement, GMP said: “Police are becoming increasingly concerned for Andrew Barr, aged 49 years.

“He was last seen leaving home in the Swinton area of Salford on the 26th August 2021 and was believed to be wearing a green jacket, green pants, black trainers and a black rough style bag with brown trim.

“There has been a possible sighting of Andrew in the Bolton area.”

Anyone with information can report sightings to police via 101, referring to Mr Barr's name or reference 1363-270821.
