Police issue appeal after two men were seriously injured in Salford crash

Police have issued an appeal for information after two men were seriously injured in a crash in Salford.

Emergency services rushed to the collision on Liverpool Street in Pendleton just after 1.15pm on Tuesday (December 15).

A grey Mercedes C2020 was travelling on Liverpool Street towards Langworthy Road when it collided with a silver Toyota Yaris, police said.

The Toyota driver - a man in his 20s - was seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The driver of the Mercedes - a man in his 40s - was also taken to hospital from the scene with serious injuries.

No arrests have been made

Liverpool Street was closed for around four hours in both directions following the smash.

It was closed at around 1.35pm and was taped off until around 5.35pm around the site of the crash just outside Langworthy Park.

Investigators are now appealing for any information and want to speak with anyone who saw the incident take place or saw the cars in the area before the collision.

They particularly want to speak with anyone who has dash cam footage.

Details can be passed on to police by calling 0161 856 6108 quoting incident number 1354 of 151220.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
