Police issue appeal after cyclist killed in early hours crash with SUV

Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was killed in a crash with an SUV vehicle.

The smash happened on Dean Road in Handforth, Cheshire, and involved a black Suzyki Grand Vitara car and a cyclist.

Police were called to the scene at around 1am on Saturday 22 August.

Attending officers discovered the cyclist had sustained serious injuries during the collision.

The 43-year-old 'local' man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramdeics.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the SUV stopped at the scene of the crash. No arrests have been made.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the collision, to help with their investigation.

They also want to speak to any motorists who believe they may have captured relevant footage on their dashcams.
