Police in Lanarkshire are asking for help after a car was torched in Kilsyth.

The incident happened around 12.15am yesterday morning (May 25) when a red Volkswagen Tiguan was set on fire outside a property on Hamill Drive in the town.

Investigating officers confirm they are treating it as wilful fire raising.

DC Lyndsay McKinnon told Lanarkshire Live : “I am asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch.

“In addition, anyone who was driving in the Hamill Drive area around the time of the incident and may have dash-cam footage that would help with our investigation is asked to call us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.

Information can be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
