Police issue advice to anyone at Gorgon City event at Invisible Wind Factory

Police are asking anyone who attended the Gorgon City event at the Invisible Wind Factory to check their footage after a knife attack.

Officers were called at around 1.35am on Sunday, December 12 following reports of a 28-year-old man being slashed across the face inside the Invisible Wind Factory on Regent Road.

It was reported the victim, Thomas Corder from Ormskirk, was slashed by another man following a row on the dance floor in the main room.

Thomas was taken to the Royal Liverpool Hospital before being transferred to Aintree Hospital for treatment for his wound that extended from his earlobe, right down his jawline to his chin.

Paramedics told him if the cut was just two inches lower then the damage could have been life-threatening.

The other man is believed to have left the nightclub a short time after the assault.

He is described as being 20-25 years of age, around 5ft 8in – 5ft 10in tall with short dark hair and dark stubble and was wearing a black T shirt, a black bomber jacket and dark coloured jeans.

Police are now asking for anybody who went to the Gorgon City event on Sunday, December 12 to check their footage to see if they captured anything significant.

Detective Inspector Jennie Beck said: “On this particular evening an event called ‘Gorgon City’ was being held and we know that hundreds of people would have been inside the club.

“We also believe that a lot of people would have been using their mobile phones to record the evening and I would ask people to check their video footage to see if they captured anything significant.

“The victim has been left with a life changing injury to his face following this assault and we are determined to find the person responsible.

“Knives have no place on the streets of Merseyside and certainly not inside a nightclub. I would ask people to come forward if they have anything that could assist us with our investigation.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information which could assist the information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting 21000858161.
