It was a busy long weekend for ACT Policing, who issued a whopping 183 traffic infringement notices.
Of those infringements, 106 drivers were caught speeding.
This included four drivers, including a P-plate driver, speeding 30-45 km/h above the speed limit. They are facing fines of $700 and eight demerit points.
Across the long weekend, police conducted 1793 road-side breath tests, with three drivers testing above the blood alcohol limit. Meanwhile, police conducted 50 road-side drug tests with eight drivers testing positive for illicit drugs.
Road policing detective acting superintendent Marcus Boorman said most drivers were well behaved during the Labour Day weekend.
"A small number of motorists chose to ignore the rules with poor driving behaviour and only have themselves to blame," he said.
"Some of these drivers will undoubtedly have their licences suspended. They put not only themselves at risk, but also other road users."
"We had some minor collisions, however we were fortunate over the long weekend not to experience a major incident or serious collision on our roads."
ACT Policing warned ACT drivers to be cautious on the road during wet weather this week by keeping a larger distance between cars and turning lights on.
