A man's body has been found at a house in Gateshead.
Police were called following concerns for the welfare of a man at an address on Newman Place in Gateshead.
Emergency services attended the scene and found a man had died inside the property.
Police say that enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the man's death.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 11.30am today (Monday) we were alerted to a concern for the welfare of a man at an address on Newman Place, Gateshead.
“Emergency services attended and found a man deceased inside the property. Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.”
