Police investigation launched after teenage girl raped in Glasgow park

A probe has been launched after a teenager was raped in a Glasgow park.

Police are investigating after the 16-year-old girl was seriously sexually assaulted at Dawsholm Park in a wooded area near the Ilay Court entrance at 8.10pm on Monday June 1.

The park is situated in the city's Kelvindale, Maryhill, and Temple areas.

Now officers are appealing to anyone who may have information over the attack.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We are carrying out enquiries after a 16-year-old woman was seriously sexually assaulted at Dawsholm Park in a wooded area a short distance from the entrance at Ilay Court in Glasgow at 8.10pm on Monday 1 June.

"Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident is asked to contact officers on 101 quoting 4107 of 1 June."
