A pet cat has been shot dead in Co Down , police have said.
The owner of the cat woke up this morning to find the lifeless feline in the area of Carrigenagh Road , Kilkeel.
A PSNI spokesperson has appealed for witnesses.
They said: "Were you in the area of Carrigenagh Road, Kilkeel between 7pm on Sunday 22nd September and 7am this morning?
"A local resident woke up today to find their pet cat had been shot and died during the night.
"Did you notice anything suspicious? Do you have any CCTV or dash cam footage?
"Please help us with any information you may have by calling 101 and quoting reference 810 of 23/09/19."
