Police investigation launched after city council worker stabbed

Police are investigating after a Bristol City Council employee was stabbed in Bristol.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary confirmed officers are making inquiries after a man was taken to hospital last Thursday (April 4) following reports of a serious assault in Easton.

The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing and police say he is in a stable condition.

The incident happened near Clifton Place at around 3.10pm.

An investigation has been launched and no arrests have yet been made.

“We were all very distressed"

Bristol Live understands the casualty worked for the city council's plumbing department.

A Bristol City Council spokesperson said: “We were all very distressed to hear about the incident and are thankful to everybody who helped our staff member.

"We cannot comment further while the police investigation is under way.”
