Police investigation after girl, 3, suffers head injury in Walton

Emergency services were called to the Walton area after reports a young child had suffered a head injury.

Neighbours reported detectives, forensics officers, and ambulances arriving at the scene in Oakhouse Park yesterday afternoon.

Merseyside Police confirmed they were called to a property shortly after 2pm yesterday (Tuesday 30th April) following reports that a three-year-old girl had suffered a head injury.

The girl was then taken to hospital for treatment.

A neighbour said: "I thought at first it was a drug raid because I could see police carrying bin bags out to the back of a van.

"It's normally very quiet so such a big police presence was worrying."

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Officers are continuing to investigate to establish the full circumstances of the incident."
