Police investigating suspected murder of Richard Andrews release 48-year-old on bail

A 48-year-old arrested on suspicion of murdering a man whose body  was found eight months after he disappeared has been released on bail.

Richard Andrews, also known as Monkey, was from the Melyn area of Neath .

He was reported missing in January, 2018, although the last confirmed sighting of him alive was Saturday, September 16, 2017.

His body was discovered by a member of the public on Saturday, September 29, 2018, on the banks of the River Neath.

On Monday, police confirmed that a 48-year-old had been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Mr Andrews but they said today he had now been bailed.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "We continue to appeal for information in relation to Mr Andrews’ death. 

"The independent charity Crimestoppers is today offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the murder of Richard Andrews. You can contact the charity 100% anonymously."
