Police investigating suspected arson after car fire in Sneinton street

Police are appealing for any witnesses after a car was reportedly set on fire in a residential street.

Officers are investigating the suspected arson in Cardale Road, Sneinton which happened around 12.45am on Wednesday (September 1).

Police believe that an Audi vehicle parked on the road may have been deliberately set alight and are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Inspector Karl Thomas, of Nottinghamshire Police said: “Thankfully the car was parked on the street and not near any buildings or dwellings and no one was reported to have been hurt.

“We would like to reassure residents that we are investigating the incident and our enquiries are continuing today.

“We would urge anyone in the area to come forward and talk to us if they saw anything suspicious or have any information that could assist our investigation.”

Those with information are asked to call 101, quoting incident number 18 of September 1.

Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
