Police are investigating reports of a shooting and petrol bomb attack at a home in Wigan .
Officers were called to the address on Bolton Road in Ashton-on-Makerfield at around 11pm last night.
There are no reports of injuries.
An investigation is underway and dedicated patrols are being deployed to the area.
Police believe the incident is not linked to a shooting on Bickershaw Lane in Wigan earlier this week.
A man was left with life-changing injuries after he blasted with a shotgun while sat in a Range Rover.
The M.E.N understands that one line of inquiry in that investigation is that it is linked to the murder of Billy Livesley.
Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: "Shortly before 11.00pm on Saturday, 21 September police were called to Bolton Road, Ashton to reports of a possible firearms discharge and petrol bomb being thrown at a property on the street.
"Officers are investigating the incident, which is not believed to be linked to an previous incident reported in the Bickershaw Lane area earlier this week."
"There have been no reported injuries."
Superintendent Caroline Hemingway added: "We understand the local community will be concerned by the incident, and I would like to reassure the public that the matter is being fully investigated and additional dedicated patrols are being deployed to the area."
