Police investigating racist attack at Manchester Piccadilly where woman had water hurled in her face after abuse want to speak to this man

Police are trying to identify this man after a woman was racially abused and had water thrown in her face at Piccadilly Station.

British Transport Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to as part of their investigation into the racially aggravated assault.

A man was heard to make racist slurs at the victim before throwing a cup of water in her face, in a completely unprovoked attack.

Earlier, the same man had been witnessed by station staff making racist comments as he walked through the station.

Officers would like to speak to the man in the image who may have information that could help their investigation.

The incident took place on Monday, February 10 shortly before 2pm.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 239 of 10/02.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
