Police investigating Omagh 'hit and run' incident

Police in Omagh are investigating a 'hit and run' incident which took place in the Co Tyrone town last week.

A report was received of a crash on the Killyclogher Road of the town on Wednesday December 8, where a light coloured vehicle collided with a grey Vauxhall Astra.

According to police, the light coloured vehicle continued on in the direction of Omagh town following the crash, which happened at around 7.40pm.

In a statement, police said they are appealing for anyone with information on the incident to get in touch.

"Police are currently investigating a hit and run road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 19:40 Hours on Wednesday 8th December on the Killyclogher Road, Omagh," the statement said.

"Police are trying to trace the driver of a light coloured vehicle that struck a grey Vauxhall Astra and continued in the direction of Omagh town.

"If you have any information that could assist our enquires please contact police on 101 and quote ref: 1656 of 8/12/21. Alternatively you can contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
