Police investigating links between a house fire and fatal car crash in South Australia's South-East

Police are investigating links between crash and fire.(ABC News)

South Australian police are investigating possible links between a house fire in a small SA town and a car crash that killed a man an hour later.

Flames were spotted coming from a house on Potts Road at Lucindale about 11:00pm on Sunday.

A Country Fire Service unit extinguished the blaze, which caused extensive damage to the house.

No-one was home at the time.

SA Police said officers were investigating potential links between the fire and a fatal crash at Avenue Range, about 30 kilometres to the west.

A 58-year-old man died at the scene of a reported single-car rollover at Avenue Range Road just before midnight.

Major Crash Investigators have flown from Adelaide to examine the crash site.

The man's death is the 17th on South Australian roads this year.

In a separate incident, police were investigating a crash that injured a woman at Klemzig, in Adelaide's northeast, about 3:45am.

Police said officers responded to reports of a crash on North East Road and found a woman with serious injuries in the passenger seat of a car.

She was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital and is in a serious condition.

The driver — described as a Caucasian man aged between 30 and 40 with tattoos on one arm — who allegedly caused the crash is yet to be found by police.
