Police investigating knife-point robbery of 82-year-old in his garden release picture of man they want to speak to

Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to after a pensioner was robbed at knife-point in his own back garden in Bolton.

Officers were called to Ramwells Brow in the early hours of Saturday June 6, after the 82-year-old reported a robbery.

He was asleep with his wife when a noise outside woke him up.

He went into his back garden to investigate.

Officers say he came face-to-face with an 'unknown man', who demanded money and his car keys.

When the elderly man refused, the man allegedly assaulted him, before threatening him with a knife.

The pensioner's silver SEIKO watch and gold-rimmed prescription glasses were stolen, before the man ran away.

Officers investigating the robbery have released a picture of a man they want to speak to.

Detective Constable Sarah Dixon from GMP's Bolton District said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for this gentleman, and we're doing everything we can to try and find the person responsible, and bring them to justice.

"If you or anyone you know recognises this man, please contact police."

Information can be passed to officers through the GMP website, or by calling 101 and quoting log number 999 of 06/06/2021.

Alternatively, the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
